I have served the City of Simi Valley and Ventura County residents for over 31 years as both a paid firefighter and volunteer in civic activities. I have raised a family and lived well in Simi Valley. I feel it is time to give back to the community that has given me so much.
I want to serve and represent my neighbors in local government. Serve and Represent are not just words to me. I understand the meaning and I am committed to working for each and every citizen of this City.
I truly believe the residents of this City deserve a choice in who represents them at City Hall. I believe our citizens should be able to look at several candidates and select the ones that will best serve them, the owners of the community. I stand firmly against the practice of appointing council seats.
I don’t view my candidacy as a challenge to anyone. There are openings for city council positions and I have decided to apply. The employer, the residents of Simi Valley, will review the applications and select who they feel will do the best job for them. Council positions are part time and no one should be allowed to make a career of being on the Council.
I know many residents work out of the City. I will be available to you, the residents, on a regular basis during hours that are convenient to you. After all, you are the boss!
